Khaleej Times reported that this eligibility check will be done upon reservation in an individual’s home country and prior to the arrival of an individual in the emirate.
e-Services Sector’s Assistant Director General at Dubai’s Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, Col. Khalid Nasser Al Razouqi said that as part of a federal project, the new ‘Advance Passenger Information’ (API) system is goint to be implemented across the United Arab Emirates in the near future.
Al Razouqi said that the system is already implemented by many countries and it is meant to save money, time and effort, enhance passenger comfort and flow, and curb violators even before they can arrive in the country.
At present only individuals travelling from Iraq, Iran, Yemen and Pakistan are required to provide API. However, the requirements for information are subject to change at any time.
Necessary passenger information for all API countries (additional information may be required depending on the country of origin):
- Full name
- Date of birth
Passport number, expiration date and issuing country
